Beno Udrih

  • Beno Udrih (born July 5, 1982 in Celje, SR Slovenia, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Slovenian professional basketball player who currently is the starting Point Guard for our Sacramento Kings. He re-signed a five-year contract with the team in July 2008 after being courted by the Los Angeles Clippers, but made the choice to return to Sacramento.

Udrih was a part of two NBA Championships during his years playing for the San Antonio Spurs. However, Udrih was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves along with cash considerations on October 27th, 2007. The Wolves immediately waived him and he was picked up off waivers by the Sacramento Kings who were aching for a Point Guard with Mike Bibby (who at the time was the starting Point Guard) injured for at least two months due to a broken thumb. Udrih filled in well for the Kings, and was rewarded with a new contract as stated above once the season ended.

When Beno is away from the hardwood, his favorite leisure activities include video games, watching movies, and spending time with family at home.
