So there were three reasons why I picked that game.

1. It was awesome to see the frustrated look on Garnett's face, as he realized a 6'7" Kenny Thomas was making shutting him down and making him shoot 6-24.

2. It had a Kevin Martin game-winner.

3. It was a win at Minnesota, a place where the Kings historically either lost, or played ugly. This was a fairly well played game, and only had 8 turnovers by the Kings too.

An example of a frustrating poor decision that the Kings would make, in previous games at Minnesota, was when Sam Cassell grabbed a rebound out of Stojakovic's hands, for example.

Even though the play-by-play doesn't say Stojakovic had possession of the ball, I seem to remember that he had it, and Cassell literally grabbed it when Stojakovic was deciding what to do after getting the rebound.

(Yes I remember random plays often, and will go to the play-by-play to pull them up. They were memorable to me.)

I had a 100% expectation of the A's making the playoffs last year, after signing DeJesus, Willingham, and Matsui. And Crisp from the year before. All were legit MLBers. I also thought it was likely they could get to the ALCS. Unfortunately, DeJesus didn't do much, and Matsui was too late, and only had a good 5-6 weeks. The SP also took a moderate step back.

* I like how the A's are now on a dedicated sports station, 95.7 FM The Game. At the beginning of the year, when they switched, I felt the postgame show was rushed so they could get back to country music.

But then 95.7 switched formats to all sports. The other hosts during the day are ok. They have big name hosts, but most of them are slow in their delivery IMO. What I mean is they don't get to the point right away, but have a lot of teasers. Or they have too many "here is the 10:30 AM segment on this".

Overall though, the more sports stations, the better. Gives me something to station surf to. I usually flip between 680 AM, 1140 AM, 1050 AM, and 95.7 The Game, depending on what they're talking about. I try to switch to whoever is talking about NBA or MLB. I don't mind CFB either, once in a while.

The hosts do pretty good interviews, I liked their interviews with Larry Baer more than I did KNBR's. And they had a Stephen Curry interview I was going to post about, at some point.

* I was in Fountain Valley in November, 2010. I saw a lot of fans wearing San Francisco Giants jerseys.

* After the 2004 NBA Finals, my Lakers fan complained that there were too many fans wearing Ben Wallace jerseys suddenly walking around.

* I was listening to the radio (I think the Kevin & Bean show) a few days after game 5 between the Spurs and L.A. Lakers in 2003. One of the hosts was complaining that he only saw L.A. Well, the Angels have great attendance lately. From 2003-2010, they were top two in AL attendance every year. In 2011, they dropped to 3rd. Minnesota vaulted into the top two. (New stadium must be paying dividends).

So I give credit to Angels fans for showing up for nine straight years.

It was a Chicago - Sac game when Sac was really bad and Richmond was the only player of any value on the Kings. The Kings were getting blown out. Richmond missed a layup on the offensive end and went down. Pippen, instead of going back on D just fell on Richmond and wouldn't get up... he just laughed and eventually Richmond started laughing as well.

It really respresented the Kings and Chicago organizations and the respect they did/didn't receive from the refs.
