I realize we don't all live near each other (especially me) so if you do mention a favorite local restaurant, another poster might not have the opportunity to even check it out, but I'm just curious of what types of foods you enjoy, specific restaurants, Chinese, Mexican?? etc...
Ok, as for me, I'm open to all sorts of things. Today I'm going to a local Chinese place that everyone has told me good things about. I just read some reviews online, and they all seem solid too. The place is called Shang Yuen.
I'll share my thoughts later, after I chow down :)
Round Table Pizza makes my heart flutter. And my wallet sad.

lazybum1079, I would never do that to you. I know what you can do with egg nog, such as when you make your Kings-board famous egg nog milk shakes.

Well with my summer roadtrip I have many new recipes on hand to share throughout each game thread.
Why wait until a regular season game thread?
Just do what I suggested earlier. Make a thread called "lazybum1079's Road Trip", and share a recipe from every state that you learned, where applicable.
Or, share your favorite food venues from every state. You can focus on one state a day. That will give you something to do, everyday, and it will give you (and me) something to look forward to reading.
Or, just share in whatever logical order makes sense.
Don't worry about using up all of your recipes before a game is played. The earlier you share with us, the more likely some of us will get a chance to try it out, and then we can comment on our own experiences in trying your recipes. Remember when I posted in at least two different game threads, about my experiences with your egg nog milk shake recipe?
You know I'll try some of yours.
Plus it gives us more time to plan. And ask followup questions about where to find ingredients.
Get it started, now!

I will tell you what my wife told me when we were first dating. "The longer you wait the better it will be." I will let you form your own conclusions on that one! haha

I had the:
Bourbon Chicken: It was good. It had that 'grill' taste, which was a plus. It was a little chewy, but that's good too. If it's too chewy, then that's when it starts to suck. The sauce was good too. It was a little too rich for me.
Orange Chicken: I've had better Orange Chicken (at Famous Wok). Still good though. The sauce was rich too, like the above (so I had that full feeling really fast) but I guess that's expected with Chinese fast food? The batter was just right, not too crunchy, not too chewy.
Egg Roll: Bad. Too greasy, too soft/chewy. I want some crispyness to my egg roll. I didn't like them. The sauce that they gave me for the egg roll was shit too (some sort of sweet and sour). The vegetables on the inside didn't taste fresh, they were just mushy almost, and gross.
Fried Rice: Good. A little bland, but once I put some of the teriyaki sauce on top, it tasted better lol. It wasn't over-the-top greasy either.
Ok, I wish I had taken out and eaten at home because that way I would've eaten slower I think (It's funy because nuraman00 and I were just having a conversation about eating speeds last night). Anyway, since I ate in about 20-30 minutes, I feel that I ate too much, and that's why I was complaining about the fullness setting in so quickly. There was a lot of food too. 3 entrees and the rice, and a drink. So I should've breaken it up into two smaller meals maybe. Or just saved the egg roll or rice for later. I don't know.
Overall, I will go again sometime and the value was good too.

I don't think I've seen bourbon chicken at a Chinese restaurant. Interesting. I agree, I like the grill taste too.
For the egg rolls, the sweet and sour sauce sounds like it would have been good. Unfortunately, the chewy texture; mushy unfresh vegetables, and uncrispy texture of the roll, would have also ruined it for me.
Bland fried rice? :( Good thing you had the teriyaki sauce.
I don't get orange chicken too often. I think I like it, but just don't get it. I'm not sure what I prefer for orange chicken. I'm sure I would have liked the one you got.
Eating Mexican food fast is the worst, IMO. That makes me feel full fast. Chinese food doesn't sit as heavy.
What was the drink?
Glad it was good enough for you to get again.
Maybe next time instead of egg rolls, you can get won ton soup or something.
How does this place compare to Famous Wok?

Speaking of alcohol marinated chicken, I have to say that this usually hasn't left an impression on me. Anytime I try one of these, the taste is nothing special. It doesn't seem to leave a uniquely identifiable taste. Nor does it produce something that would become a favorite.
I know the alcohol burns off during the cooking process, but what I'm saying is that the resulting chicken just tastes like normal marinated chicken to me. I feel like you can achieve the same taste without the marination. Thus that's what I meant when I said the alcohol doesn't seem to leave a uniquely identifiable trait.
This has been true for:
* Tequila marinated chicken at Mexican restaurants.
* Jack Daniels marinated chicken at American restaurants.
Or, maybe I just don't like the flavor of alcohol marinated chicken. Or, the above places don't season the chicken as well before they marinate it. That's the thing, most of the time it just tastes a little bland to me.
The only time I felt a difference is when a roommate and I were both making beer marinated chicken. I think he choose Budweiser, and I chose a higher end beer. Perhaps it was Newcastle. Both came out pretty good, but he admitted mine tasted a little better.
On another note, I'd like to do a taste test between beer-battered onion rings, and non beer-battered onion rings. I'd like to see if there's a difference in taste or texture.
Interesting, here's an article on whether alcohol burns off during cooking. They say it depends on the cooking time:

This says something similar:
