I didn't like their offense last year. Nor Thibbadeau. And didn't like Rose simplistic approach last year.

In this season opener this year, I was fine with Rose, Thibbadeau, and how Rose used the bigs. Noah and Boozer ran a lot of high-lows.

We'll see how they play on Thursday.

BTW, I know this isn't the Circus Road Trip anymore, but Chicago always sucks on their Circus Road Trip.

Also, the Bulls had lost 9 of 11 at the Screaming O, so it's just one of those things where they always suck there.

Chicago is also very sound defensively. The Kings will need to have much better ball movement and alot more assist/to ratio then they had in the debacle tonite. No one other than Rose scares me on that team, but they always take care of the ball, limit mistakes, and make the other team work. If we want a W, play decent team d like we did against the Lakers and its a must Thornton/Evans need to combine for 35-40 or we will not win the game.

I think that's why you saw the Kings looking into Jamal Crawford, happy as I am that they passed up on him. There's no doubt Jimmer can be a difference maker on offense (he's holding himself back), but on defense, it's really bad. Not just straight up defense, but, he's just running wild out there. It's not that he's not trying, he just looks overwhelmed at the schemes and rotations. With such a short training camp and almost no practice time, I don't blame him coming from the situation he was in - but he's a liability on the floor even when he's scoring. If he's not scoring, it's pointless.

Kings offense is

take 5 seconds to get ball past half court...leaves 19 seconds on the shot clock. Current ball handler dribbles around for another few seconds, stops...then passes to guy within 3 ft of him

after that, whoever has the ball with 13 or less on the clock must THEN try all they can to create their own shot, and ultimately just shoot it regardless if you are covered or not

He also averaged 3 less minutes a game last year. If he played 34 minutes like usual, that probably would have been 19-20 points like usual.

Also, his FG% was still 51% last year. If he was over the hill, he would have missed more shots.

Last season, he averaged 19.8 points per 36 minutes. Which means, was on pace to do better, he just didn't play enough minutes.

Elton Brand shot 51 percent as well. His numbers were not far off from Boozer and he's probably still better defensively. Yet you agree that he is over the hill.

Defense can be fixed.

FT shooting can't be fixed unless the guys who shoot the most FTs increase their FT%. And it won't happen. Unless Evans reworks his shot, he's not going to get better.

FT shooting doesn't really change across a career.

Elton Brand shot 51 percent as well. His numbers were not far off from Boozer and he's probably still better defensively. Yet you agree that he is over the hill.

Well, Boozer's per 36 minute numbers haven't declined.

Brand's per 36 minute scoring numbers have gone from 19 to 15.6.

Brand also had the injury in 2007-2008 which caused him to miss 79 games. He was never the same after that.

Boozer hasn't had a season long type injury. Not the kind of structural injury Brand had.

Brand is also 32. Boozer is 30.

So when you combine the big drop in per-36 minutes in Brand, with his season-long injury in 2007-2008, that's why he's over the hill offensively. He's also two years older.

Boozer hasn't had that kind of injury, and his per-36 minutes are the same.

Brand also didn't have Boozer's quickness, he was more like a Jermaine O'Neal. I mean Brand could use his quickness on defense, but not on offense.

So I've always thought Brand lost it on offense for similar reasons that Jermaine O'Neal did, they didn't have that quickness to begin with, and relied more on strength and smarts. And after a while, it took a toll on their body.
