Perhaps his role in the offense was also a factor. He can be a bigger factor there. I think he also didn't like his reduced impact on offense the last few years.

It was actually five free passes. But he admitted there really wasn't a limit. This was on Inside The NBA sometime during 2005-2006.

He said he hadn't used one before. Kenny and Charles asked why his wife would allow that. He said it wasn't a big deal, and "it [sex] was the oldest business in the world".

With that, Smith had an awkward expression on his face, and they faded out to commercial.

What was even more funny was that Kenny and Charles had Kirilenko as a studio guest, specifically to ask him questions about sex and the hall pass. But it turned into an awkward interview, for them, with that final response by his nonchalant attitude toward sex. He didn't even come across as if he enjoyed it or he enjoyed the prospect of having the pass, just that it was something that millions of people have done before.

They didn't ask him any questions on his game or the Jazz season. Or none that I remember, lol.
