2. Guess the total number of trades the Kings will be involved in from now until the deadline.

2

3. Who will the Kings trade for?

A bench player.Think Sergia Monia.

4. Which players on the Kings' roster will no longer be there after the deadline?

Greene or Hickson.

5. Who is the biggest star that will be moved?

Bogut, Al Jefferson.

Next tier: Michael Beasley or Chris Kaman or Ramon Sessions.

6. Which team will make the biggest upgrade for a near-term championship run?

Clippers get a defensive 2-guard; Heat get Kaman via buyout; Magic get a PG (Crawford maybe?); Pacers get a PG?

I would say only one of these happen, probably only the Clippers one.

7. Which team will make the best future investment? (Young players and picks).

Hornets if they trade Kaman rather than buy him out. Don't think that will happen though.

I'll say Utah, in that Jefferson is traded for a PG. It might not be for a good PG, but the investment is more in terms of playing Favors and Kanter more minutes going forward. It will probably be for a flawed stop-gap backup PG type player. But they need to clear up the logjam up front.

I think Milwaukee will be too undecided to trading Bogut. They'll probably wait until summer, when they have more time to evaluate their team needs. And more time to talk to other teams. So scratch my Bogut mention from earlier.

For Golden State, I think you have to either trade two of Ellis/Lee/Curry, or trade none. Trading one doesn't do enough. And I think its too hard to swing a deal right now, summer will probably be better.

3. Nobody good.

I'm having a hard time figuring out if you will think Sergei Monia fits that description. :)

Hickson

5. Who is the biggest star that will be moved?

Remember when Portland had Potapenko and Monia? Rumors had it that Monia's main problem was learning English. He was just that poor at it, despite being in the league a few years.

Now, you would think being around Potapenko would have helped him out (both in Portland, and in Sacramento). But maybe Potapenko sabotaged Monia?

If Cleveland trades away Jamison, you think they can get that good of an investment back? I would think someone like Al Jefferson, if traded, could be worth more. But the key part is "if traded".

Maybe the problem was the Ukraine Train was giving him lessons. At that stage of his career, the train already derailed and took Monia down with it.

7. Which team will make the best future investment? (Young players and picks).

Golden State is investing in their future by allowing Klay Thompson to develop at starting SG. They can see if he can become a consistent scorer over the next 1.5-2 years.

Also, 27 is the peak age for big men, so Bogut-Lee is intriguing. Bogut will be 28 next year, that's about the prime year for bigs.

Milwaukee is investing in their future with a cheaper big, in Udoh. I don't think he'll ever develop enough offense to play 30mpg. He could be good enough defensively, though.

Golden State had to give up Udoh, because a team like Milwaukee isn't going to give up big for small without a big back.

So we have GS, with a cheaper SG in Klay Thompson, and Milwaukee, with a cheaper big in Udoh.

Golden State essentially invested in the health of Curry and Bogut.

Roll those dice.

GS has been desperate to land a starting big since the offseason. Marquee free agent bigs are hard to come by and typically you have to overpay to get anything...even the bad-mediocre crop. Bogut is a legit big and very talent, but he needs to stay healthy. As Nura said, they are putting their hopes into Klay becoming a true starter which makes Ellis (who makes a lot of cash) available.

Milwaukee on the other hand are looking for instant gratifications. Bogut can't stay healthy, and the team is worrying about Jennings dipping out come free agency. They want to start looking as good as possible to change Jennings mind and be relevant (in both standings and free agency). Ellis is a guy who brings a much needed spark to a ho-hum offense, and gives them a backcourt pairing similiar to what GS had. Plus they rid themselves of Jackson's contract and attitude.

Also lets the Warriors keep their draft pick assuming they're shitty enough to stay in the top 7.

They might. They got to stop playing the Kings though as they'll get free wins everytime.

4. Which players on the Kings' roster will no longer be there after the deadline?

Jim Todd, or N/A.

5. Who is the biggest star that will be moved?

Monta Ellis, Andrew Bogut, Gerald Wallace.

6. Which team will make the biggest upgrade for a near-term championship run?

L.A. Clippers - Acquired Nick Young.
L.A. Lakers - Acquired Ramon Sessions.
Indiana Pacers - Acquired Leandro Barbosa
San Antonio Spurs - Acquired Stephen Jackson

7. Which team will make the best future investment? (Young players and picks).

Portland Trail Blazers - Acquired a Top 3 protected pick from New Jersey.

Denver Nuggets - Acquired JaVale McGee. He's an asset that they can use in a sign-and-trade, even if they don't resign him. And even if they don't resign him, they can clear playing time to Koufos and Faried, who are playing pretty well and a lot cheaper than Nene.

Golden State - Cleared playing time for Klay Thompson, who is on a rookie contract and whom they need to develop, over Monta Ellis. The risk is also giving a larger role to an injured Curry, who can't handle the load.

Milwaukee - Got a cheaper replacement for Bogut in Udoh, who they can develop.

5. I think Ellis is the best by the lot.

6. Lakers > Spurs > Clippers > Indiana in order of biggest upgrades. The Lakers needed a point guard upgrade severely. Session is a solid and stable contributor, and Jordan Hill gives them depth at the big spot. Also they don't need to play Fisher anymore who has been garbage. They could of used Beasley though. The Spurs got rid of Jefferson who never truely fit in and get Jackson who is still solid defensively while capable of giving sparks on offense. The Clippers get Young who is inconsistant, but needed as the really needed another potential scorer. Indiana gets a guard to provide some scoring and depth off the bench.

7. I think Portland did the most for its future. It has freed up salary for the future, and helps them begin to carve a new direction in the future to build around Aldridge. Getting a potential top pick will help them in that regard.
