It's nice watching teams that can score with well coached plays.
I couldn't say that about the two prior games.

I didn't think Randolph had looked healthy the past few weeks, and he only took two shots today so far, but he does look good.

Chris Paul needs to score 20-30 points for them to come back.

Clippers are done without Butler. They can't lose Billups and Butler. They won't win this series, they will probably lose in 5.

Overall, I don't think Young can replace Butler's production. Young has some talent, but he's still a Wizard at heart. He takes too many bad shots. Isn't a smart player.
However, if Bledsoe can eat into some of Butler's minutes, I could see him being a bigger factor.
Also, while I predicted this series would have a lot of blowouts both ways, I do think there's a reason why the Clippers were down, and I don't think they can really make up Butler's loss.

I don't read too much into these 20 point comeback type things, usually the team that was up still wins the series moving forward.
New Jersey still beat Boston in 2002, despite blowing a 20+ point lead in the 4th.
Dallas still beat Portland last year.

Damn, I didn't think Gay was going to let the clock wind down like that.
Exciting game.

Grizz do, they just ran a bad play.
Their offense schemes are as good as the Spurs IMO, they can get a lot of high percentage shots.
I'd give it to Mayo or Gasol/Randolph.
Indiana, they have problems on offense during the other 47 minutes too.
And for the Clippers, if Paul would play better during the first 45 minutes, they wouldn't need these comebacks. Yeah the Clippers lead the league in comebacks (according to TNT), but some of that is because Paul looks to set others up and they'd get behind by double digits.

Yeah, I agree with Barkley 100%. There's no momentum in the playoffs. I've seen series with consecutive blowouts, on the same floor too.
I want to see what kind of minutes Bledsoe gets.
And I've been a Reggie Evans fan for a few years, but I don't know if this is the right series for him. We will see.

One thing I like about Westbrook, compared to Chris Paul and Deron Williams, is that I always feel his presence in the game. I like that fire and intensity he plays with.
With Paul and Williams, I've seen too many games where I don't think they're aggressive enough. Or with Williams, he mopes a bit.

Ok, I rewatched the 4th quarter. What I'm about to say probably isn't surprising, given other 20-1 type runs you've seen in other games. But:
* During that entire 7+ minute span, the Grizzlies were not setting up their halfcourt offense. They were rushing shots, and taking shots early in the shot clock. That's not their style, they're usually more methodical.
* The two possessions where they did slow the clock down, still resulted in bad shots. They resulted in Conley drives. Conley is better when he's shooting, not driving, IMO.
* Despite that, the Clippers weren't perfect either. They had two turnovers, and Nick Young took one of his classic Wizards nutbanger shots, off the dribble. It bricked badly. I think Evans still got the offensive rebound, but that's not the point, it was not a good shot.
* Bledsoe made a 3-pointer. He isn't a good shooter. But he caught it and shot it.
Most of the damage was because of the Grizzlies taking bad shots. Even when Randolph took a shot, he was double-teamed.
They just lost their way, and lost what got them there.
* I didn't even notice Marc Gasol during that span. Not good.
From looking at Popcorn Machine:
http://www.popcornmachine.net/cgi-bin/gameflow.cgi?date=20120429&game=LACMEM
Gasol didn't have a FGA or FTA. Hollins should have done something about that.
Randolph wasn't on the floor during an 0-11 span. Hollins can't leave Randolph on the bench during that big of a run, especially when Randolph wasn't in any sort of foul trouble.
Rudy Gay had the most misses, going 1-5.
Holy smokes, Paul had 7 assists during that span.

Nick Young lefty drive.

So, I'd say these teams are playing to form. Grizzlies with the better offense, Clippers with the more exciting plays.

If this was a Kings game they'd turn the ball over so the opposing team can make a half court shot to end the half. Griffin needs to take notes. Being useful isn't allowed in these parts.

I like Memphis system and offense, I had Hollins as a top 3 COY in 2009-2010, when they won 37 games.
But they're not making "big" plays.

Not Jon Barry. All he talks about is how they can't make FTs (he's called out Jordan, Griffin, Martin, Evans).
And about how their halfcourt offense is predictable.
If you'd listen to him now, you'd think he hated the Clippers.

This is probably the best series, match-up wise, in the first round.

Yeah, been watching this game.
Reggie Evans and Eric Bledsoe are MVPs of the 3rd quarter, for the Clippers.
Grizzlies were playing better 75% of the 1st half.
