The old relic Sandy Sheedy has decided she is going to insert herself into an anti-Arena crusade
due to her vendetta against KJ - :banghead:

This is the story of a politician touting a phony poll on a controversial topic meant to stir people up for no good reason.

Sacramento City Councilwoman Sandy Sheedy (http://topics.sacbee.com/Sandy+Sheedy/) says her poll shows that city residents (http://topics.sacbee.com/city+residents/) want an up or down vote on the financing of a new arena in the downtown railyard. (http://topics.sacbee.com/railyard/)

What's an "up or down" vote?

As in, either it gets financed or it doesn't?

As opposed to "pick financing plan A, B, or C"?

yep....either reject it or not
she is a big part of the reason Sacramento is still a "punchline" IMO

I can't even believe she is still alive, I remember she visited my classroom in High School (as a City Council member) and I'm no spring chicken

I dont know anything about her but glad she is being bombarded with shit. SHe needs to not stick her nose into things. Does she not understand how bad it will be for the city of Sac to not have a professional team? This city will be dead and not only will it be dead there wont be no fun venues to attend. I guess we can support our River Cats but at best there only a triple A team or whatever. We are suppose to be the capital of California and we wont have nothing to show for it. How La is built is how a capital of a state should be. We are nothing close to that and wonder if we may see a change of citys being a capital.

I think she's not going to reapply for re-election, right? The Kings stuff really did her in.

She damn near got her way too. 5/4. Kind of crazy to think that the Kings were one solitary vote away from being history. Sacramento really got by on the skin of its teeth there. That is, assuming that the 5/4 vote wasn't engineered so that certain council members could say...hey, don't blame us, we voted to put this thing on the ballot.
