All season unless there is another big incident or serious complains against him. The other possibility is he could be gone at the all-star break if the Kings have a ridiculously bad record by then. (losing 80%+ of games).

Well I would say they will give him another couple of weeks to see if they can get it reversed.

I think the whole season. I just don't see anything drastic happening.

Magoofs should let him go now, if they want to salvage the season. I don't expect them to do anything. In fact, I expect the arena to become more sparse as the losing continues and the team becomes more disinterested. Which, their hand will be forced to sell this mess.

Changing coaches mid-season rarely helps a team. In fact, most of the time, the team actually performs worse. Or, if they end the season decently, it doesn't carry over.

The only two times in recent history that a coaching change lead to a significant improvement was when Hubie Brown took over for Memphis in 2003-2004 (they went 28-46 in 2002-2003, which was a still a franchise high in wins, then went 50-32 the next season). And George Karl for Denver in 2004-2005, who went 30-8.

Lawrence Frank won at a slightly higher % for New Jersey in 2003-2004, but it wasn't that much better.

The Kings didn't get any better when Kenny Natt took over in 2008-2009.

You can look at the past 10 years, and other than those two-three examples, a coaching change just didn't help.

And neither Hubie Brown, nor George Karl, are walking through that door.

Irrespective of the situation, its best to let Westphal finish the season, see if the team finishes any better. If not, hire someone else.

I'm not saying I like what's going on with Westphal. Just if you look at history, it rarely helps.

Yes. They could lose 19 of 21, which I don't think they'll do in this current stretch of games.

The Lakers lost 19 of their final 21 shortly after going from Tomjanovic to Frank Hamblem. Not saying Westphal is Tomjanovic, but just saying there's always worse possible.

The Kings did play worse under Kenny Natt, for example.

Anyways, I think they still pull today's game to within 15.
