    Rajon Rondo

I like the way this team has played lately and a lot of things are becoming clear. It is clear Cousins can be the guy, he is having a MONSTER February and a good season overall. Tyreke likely won't be anything more than a second option and is not a PG, but has played the 3 well enough to pass there (though undersized, his quickness makes up for it). Salmons is starting to realize his role now at this point of his career, a solid role player and defender, same with Garcia. Hickson won't be back next year, in favor of Thompson, with the recent comments and both their play on the court. Thornton is a legit 20 PPG scorer. Now, Thomas and Jimmer still have questions surrounding them, but at the very least, both serve as capable backups.

The thing missing on this is a true, play-making, experienced PG. First guy that pops into my head is Rondo and I think the Kings are a great fit. We have money, young talent and draft picks, all what the Celtics want. Offer up this years first rounder (and next year if necessary), JJ Hickson, and either Thomas/Jimmer.

This team doesn't need more draft picks, we need players to fit the system now. Rondo/Thornton/Tyreke/Hayes/Cousins- Thomas, Thompson, Salmons, Garcia off the bench. That's actually a pretty damn good defensive team.

Do I need a receipt to bring the sexy back?

Think giving up on Jimmer with this current cast would be a tough pill to swallow. Dude has Peja like shooting ability, which in this day and age, is pretty rare. He's much better than that of a Kapono, Morrow type.

This team is so void of any shooting talent - Jimmer, in that regard, fits well. His confidence is a whole different issue, but when he's on, he's a special type of shooter. Healthy Micheal Redd style.

The Celtics wouldn't go for it. Two 1st round picks from a bad team would certainly interest the C's but it wouldn't be close to enough especially since they have no idea what number picks the Kings would get. Right now its possible the Kings might wind up between 6-10 this year, and maybe even later next year. That makes the draft choices lose much of their potential luster.

I see them only giving up Rondo for young, but proven talent like when they trade to trade for Chris Paul who they wanted to be their new cornerstone. Outside of that Rondo is still a piece of their core and the only one they could still build around. Now if the Kings offered Tyreke, Jimmer, and a few unprotected first round picks that might make it much more accepting for Boston. Now it might not be worth it at that point for the Kings though.

I don't think there's any way the Kings would get Rondo without involving Tyreke, which personally, I would pull the trigger on. Nothing against Tyreke, I just think Rondo is the caliber player that's worth trading one of your best players for. I've become a pretty big Rondo fan over the last few years watching him in the playoffs with the Celtics. The guy has proven that he can play on the biggest stage and play with hall of famers. The Kings don't have anyone with nearly that level of confidence or experience right now, that's why I think Rondo would be a huge addition for this team. He's also under contract through 2015 and is still only 25. The only negative at all is that he's not a good shooter but then again, neither is Tyreke, only Tyreke isn't the great PG, great defender, and great leader that Rondo is.

i would definitely trade tyreke for rondo. but i would be extremely reluctant to add additional draft picks in the deal because we'd be losing our starting small forward and possibly his replacements in the draft

Tyreke for Rondo.. Count me in on that. Rondo makes all the players around him better, unless your name is Outlaw, Hickson, or Salmons. A great leader, defender, and is shooting 49 percent this year.
this is a no-brainer. I don't think Reke is going to amount to anything more than he currently is. We need a proven veteran to get us to the next level.

I'd probably consider Tyreke or Rondo straight up as well. Tyreke is still one of the youngest players on this team (even younger than Jimmer/Isaiah), and has tons of potential but I just don't know if he can reach that. His BB IQ is so low its just hard to trust him for the future. Rondo still has lots of years left in his prime, and is one of the best playmakers in the league. Plus the team would finally have someone on the perimeter who could stop penetration. If the C's were willing to take on either Outlaw, Salmons, or Garcia I'd do it in a heartbeat.
