If he had a perfect deal for either of them, he'd have taken it no doubt - but it just wasn't there.
Nobody wants our garbage - and when you trade garbage, you just get different garbage in return. No player traded today would have been of value to the Kings. GWall is an injury risk at nearing the end of his career.
Then guys that were rumored of interest like Batum (never really any shot at that) and Jordan Crawford (they traded Nick Young AWAY to get Crawford starting minutes) weren't ever really possible without massive overpays.
It's his fault the Kings are in this situation, the poor contracts/players like Garcia and Salmons, but the only players anybody wanted on this team were Evans and Cousins (and Hickson to a slighter degree) and all three were only desired if they were at EXTREME discounts.
I mean, crap, the deals offered (more or less) were Jermaine O'Neal-ish contracts for JJ Hickson, Reke for Monta or Nene for DeMarcus. Why would we want any of them?
Unfortunately, the upcoming free agent crop is, well, awful. So it's going to be another year of the same before the Kings spend money in 2013/2014 to get ready for the new arena with guys like Josh Smith, Ty Lawson, Steph Curry, Cp3, Bynum, Harden, Millsap and more become FA's.
