"Niggas is strapped and they tryin to twist my beer cap" - Method Man "The Iron Lung"
I can relate, Method
I've only seen them once live, but they were great. They have a really stripped-down show. What I mean is no fancy lights. No video screen. They just come out with a ton of energy, and keep it up for 2-2.5 hours.
This song is actually a cover, the original artist is Neil Young. Surprisingly, Pearl Jam does a lot of covers, and they do a good job with them, IMO.
I like them, but I can't say I'm a hardcore fan yet. I have two albums, but those were their most popular ones. I ordered two more a few days ago, so we'll see what I think in a few weeks, after I've listened to them. I like to judge bands that I like after I've listened to at least one complete album, so I can get a sense of how consistent they are. But in this case, since my current albums were their two popular albums, I want to listen to something that might not have sold as well, but hardcore fans of their band would still recommend.
BTW, I haven't listened to all of the songs in this thread that you've posted yet, but I do plan to go through them.
What did you think of this song / clip?
Question: What is the lead singer holding in his hand at 0:12 (bottle of wine? some sort of alcohol?)
What genre is this considered? I know all music or all rock music isn't necessarily fitting to a specific subgenre..but I always like to think of music in genres. The closest two I could guess would be punk or grunge.
There's a waving flag at 1:37, do you know what it is?
Some girl is on the cell phone at 2:25..really???
I like the main...not sure what to call it...riff? Just the main guitar part (when the guy isn't singing)... and then right after that the solo(Starting at 3:00 and then back around 4:50 it starts again.
This is decent. I almost want to say its a blend between Metallica and Nirvana, lol. Metallica has some softer songs, so I'm talking about that Metallica.
What are the fans chanting at the end?
Just some thoughts as I listened to the song.
Ok, the lyrics in this song are a little immature/simple. This is the only song I like from this artist (Jemini) that's probably why. It's just that he has a really good producer on this track (these two actually made an entire album together).
Usually my attention is drawn to complex lyrics and flow. Jemini has above average flow but content is meh, so agree. But Danger Mouse has a crazy beat on this song :D
Here's a song with the same producer, but a much better MC (MF Doom). These two released an album under the name 'DangerDoom'
Heres my boys
The last dude rapping can ball it up too! I actuallylive 2 blocks away from where they shot this video
Have you guys heard of Childish Gambino? I've been listening to him nonstop lately.
