    IowaSacKing93's European Biscuit Thread.

Creating a new thread because the other one kind of had a few different topics going in it.

IowaSacKing93 posted about his favorite European biscuits, such as:

I tried Cost Pus World Market, and Trader Joes. As well as the import section of the supermarket. Didn't find anything like those.

So I went to this store, Euromix.

    Here's what I got:

I was really hoping to get the choco bananas, or choco oranges. But they didn't have anything like that.

I think I found something close to the the tea biscuits that IowaSacKing93 posted about, in the first image in this thread. I think the biscuits in the lower left corner, in the tan wrapper, are close.

And I think the chocolate covered gingerbread strawberries, in the upper left corner, are kind of close to the chocolate banana bars, or chocolate orange bars. Interesting that it's made by Kraft, but with a foreign brand name.

Those wafers with the cherry filling in the upper right corner look interesting too.

And lastly, in the lower right corner are the Cookies Dream. I took a separate pic of them, because I thought it was hard to see through the wrapper.

Hey, is this what you were talking about, when you said this (below):

Are the Cookies Dream what you were talking about, or close to it?

Ok, I got back from 99 Ranch. That's an Asian grocery store.

They had Petit Buerres, but I didn't get any, because I already got some biscuits yesterday.

I also saw some cheeto-looking things, but they weren't the peanut flavored ones like IowaSacKing93 mentioned. They were shrimp or fish flavored.

So I didn't get anything, because unless I saw some of the choco banana things, or the peanut flavored cheetos, I didn't want to get any other snacks.

Yes, those biscuits in the lower corner are close. They're a little thicker, possibly a little sweeter, but close.

Nice. I wish you found some choco bananas though

Yeah, I got strawberry. They only had apple or strawberry, and from my experience, apple flavored junk food usually tastes "fake" to me, while banana translates better. Even though I don't like bananas too much in general.

Choco oranges would have been good too, had I found those.

Do you mean the biscuits in the lower left corner are close to the petit buerre, or the biscuits in the lower right are close to this description below:

These are good. The inside is spongy, with a mild strawberry flavor.

Haven't tried them yet, I'll let you know.

I don't want to eat a whole bag of stuff in one sitting, lol.

Can you clarify what you were talking about in post # 4? I asked you about it in post # 8.

I was talking about the 'cookies dream' you had bought. They look close to the 'biscuits with the powdered sugar' that I was talking about in another thread, but they werent the same.

Also, all the stuff at my local European market comes from certain companies (For example, Kras is a big chocolate manufacturer in Croatia..the stuff you got seems to be either from Asia or somewhere else). But they had those chocolate hearts so that's great. I just wonder if there's a Balkan store in your area too

    * Chocolate hearts - Poland

    * The Tan Biscuits, and Cherry-filled wafers are from a company named Roshen. Made in Ukraine. (Insert Seinfeld clip here)

    * The Cookies Dream - "Product Of Lithuania". (You can see that on the 2nd picture).

Ok, I found a few European stores that allegedly have Balkan products.

Two of them (Euromarket; Hamilton Euromarket) are 6 miles away from each other, so when I go to one, I'll probably go to the other too.

The third is called Aria Supermarket.

But I'm probably not going to go there anytime soon, since I just bought some stuff and won't feel like buying anymore for a while.

Euromix had Kinder bars. I could have gotten one, but since I had bought that other stuff, I didn't want to get anything else.

BTW, so the store clerk asked me if I was looking for anything, but I said "no, just looking". Eventually, I picked up one item, two items, three items . . . she then came over and got me a basket. Haha.

Here's another store, European Market Deli and Cafe.

    http://www.europeanfoodbayarea.com/

I might go there this weekend. Is there anything you think I should get, to-go? Maybe you might get some ideas from looking at their website. Maybe not. I don't want to get anything that needs to be refrigerated, so no meats or cheeses. (I plan to go elsewhere after this, if I do stop by here).

I just called European Market Deli and Cafe, they said they have the Kinder Bueno. So maybe I can get some there.

I was a little confused though, because when I asked about the Kinder bars, she said she didn't have any of the German Kinder products, only the ones from [insert whatever other countries she said].

But then she started naming the Kinder products, and she said she had the Bueno. So hopefully that's accurate.

I took a look at the menu and alot of those items look unfamiliar to me, so I can't recommend too many of them.

Stuffed Cabbage aka Cabbage Rolls aka Golabki - cabbage leaves stuffed with ground beef and rice.

In my language we call this 'sarme'. But it has meat in it, so it would require refrigeration.

Most of the stuff I saw under 'Russian food', 'Polish food' was beef or chicken or some sort of ham/salami. Do they have a dessert menu?

Great. Kinder also has different chocolate products. If you want to buy more than just one item, I would recommend asking or looking for other Kinder products. They have these egg shaped chocolate things and it comes with a toy (inside the chocolate). I loved those when I was little.

I was trying to find a picture of the Kinder eggs and ran into this:

Easter reminder: Kinder Eggs banned in the United States
Not all eggs are created equal in the eyes of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Kinder Eggs, a popular European chocolate egg that contains a toy inside, is banned from importation into the United States because it contains a "non-nutritive object embedded in it."
